Mobs

The Zombie |
The zombie is one of the two primary mobs. It was released in the inf-dev era of minecraft and was at first not able to attack the player. It usually makes a "buhhhh" noise when it is close to you. All it simply does is hit you, although one hit cannot kill you, it can take off a large number of hearts. You shouldn't be afraid of zombies as long as you have a house, and an iron door. Zombies really aren't useful for anything, except for rarely dropping carrots. you can also add armor to the zombie by throwing it at them, and you can also give them various accessories. You can only upgrade the sword as you throw them, say you start with wooden, give him stone next, and then iron, and then diamond, he usually won't take gold though.
The Creeper
The creeper is actually one of the most dangerous mobs in the game. It is also nicknamed the "Greifing Mob" because it is known mostly because of its use for destroying homes on multiplayer servers. When you kill it, it can drop 0-2 gunpowder, which can be used for crafting TNT. Although annoying most of the time, creepers can also be helpful in some cases. they can be used in combat, to kill the enemy or destroy their base, and vice-versa. It is said that 78% of minecraft players do not like creepers, and the other 22% are actually undecided about whether they like them or not (survey from PMC C. 2013). Creepers were released as an official mob in the "Classic" era. The creeper wasn't actually supposed to be what they are today; Notch was trying to actually make a pig, but switched the x and y axis and made a creeper. Then he messed up on the creeper and made a pig. Charged creepers are creepers that have been hit by lightning, therefore making their explosions twice as intense. You can find creepers almost anywhere, from the wilderness to caverns underground.
The Skeleton
The skeleton is one of the two primary mobs. it was released in the inf-dev era of minecraft and was at first not able to attack the player. It's primary weapon is the bow, which can be dropped upon death. The only other use is when they rarely drop potatoes. You could collect arrows, and bones, those are the two main drops of a skeleton. You can do the same thing with a skeleton with a zombie, as in give it armor, swords, and make it hold things for you. Skeletons are actually almost as hated as much as creepers because even when you are within sixteen blocks of them, they can still fire at you. Other than that, there is no more to say about the skeleton.

Enderman
An Enderman is said to be one of the most annoying Mobs in Minecraft, even if you simply look at them, they attack. Any form of liquid will hurt them, water, lava, etc. They can teleport behind you, beside you, or even right in front of you, and it is usually a pain to have them around. The enderman's speech consists of "hey" "hello" and "what's up" all reversed and distorted. The enderman can pick up blocks such as stone, grass, dirt, and sand. The enderman's real life height is seven feet and four inches. There isn't much else to say about enderman, besides the fact they can be the biggest pain in the butt, there's always at least one time where only their help can actually do anything.
The spider is one of the only hostile mobs that is one block in height, and nearly width. The spider tends to move faster than the other mobs due to its small size. It will jump on you and attack if you are close enough and will become aggravated at you within five blocks. They drop 0-3 string and 0-2 spider eyes, although the string really is the only useful drop. There isn't much else to say about the common spider.
Boss Mobs Section
Here is the wither. You can actually create the wither by taking four blocks of soul sand and placing them in a "T" shape. Then, put three wither skeleton heads on the three tops. After that, you should have a living wither. Note that withers only target living entities, so no skeletons, zombies, or ghasts. Be careful if you are trying to kill it though, its health regenerates.
Here is the Ender Dragon. The dragon lives only in the end biome, and you can get there by finding a stronghold by using eyes of ender to guide you. Before you actually start to damage him, I suggest destroying the orbs on each of the obsidian pillars, they heal him. Also, there are lots of enderman in the end biome, so turning on peaceful is probably a smart choice.
Non-hostile mobs section
Here is the pig, one of the main non-hostile mobs. The pig drops 0-3 pork chops per kill and takes two hits with every sword besides the diamond. Pigs were a great mode of transportation (still able to use, just put a saddle on one and a carrot on a stick to guide).
